Area Agronomy Extension Specialist NE District

Base pay range: $56,062.00/yr - $84,093.00/yr

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends.

Appointment Length: Regular Continuous/Until Further Notice

Hiring Range: $56,062 - $84,093 Salary

About The Position

This position is located in Muskogee, OK at the NE District Extension Office. Provides educational leadership to county and district programs in the area Agronomic Crop Production. This position will also serve to support soil fertility research and education in NE Oklahoma in collaboration with soil fertility and nutrient management faculty in the Department of Plant & Soil Sciences.

  • Travel required with budget provided.
  • This position participates as a cohesive team member with other area specialists, state specialists, county educators, and district staff.

  • OCES professionals are hired into the organization, not a specific geographical location. It is possible that future circumstances may require relocation.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's At least one degree in plant and soil sciences or closely related field. (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Starting salary is based upon education and prior relevant work experience.
  • Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses: Valid driver's license. Reliable transportation for travel connected with official duties. Reimbursement for official travel.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability in designing, promoting, presenting, and evaluating educational programs and the desire to program to reach diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's in Plant and Soil Sciences/Agronomy
  • Previous experience in Cooperative Extension or closely related work.
