VISTA Team Leader Neighbors Building Neighborhoods

The mission of Neighbors Building Neighborhoods (NBN) is to promote positive change through community outreach and support. NBN programming includes substance abuse prevention, nonprofit support through our Nonprofit Resource Center, and youth programming through our Dream Team Youth Programs. As an intermediary VISTA sponsor, our VISTA members serve at different organizations, such as the Muskogee Teen Center, the Muskogee Community Band, and the Adult Literacy Program at the Muskogee Public Library. VISTA Team Leader activities will specifically address poverty through support of these other organizations' efforts to do so; this support will take the form of development of better tools for reporting, performance measure tracking, and guidance. Member Duties : In collaboration with the NBN VISTA Program Manager, the VISTA Team Leader will focus on efforts to develop the tools and systems necessary for Neighbors Building Neighborhoods' VISTA program to operate more efficiently. The VISTA will develop a variety of devices, such as calendars and reporting workflows. The VISTA will first work with the Program Manager to identify areas of inefficiency in program management. They will then identify three tools, devices, systems, etc. that can be used to better manage the program at both the intermediary organization and the placement site organizations. They will monitor placement site performance measures progress and challenges, offer guidance on AmeriCorps VISTA policies, and provide mentorship to VISTA members regarding their service.
